God

There is only one true God who eternally exists in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Each is worthy of equal praise, unified in purpose and are the same in essence and attributes.  (Gen. 1:1, Matthew 28:19, Eph. 4:6, John 1:1-3)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is second person of the Trinity who exists eternally and is equal in essence and power with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.  I believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived as a sinless life  that He gave sacrificially to pay the penalty of sin, was buried and rose again on the third day thereby sealing the pardon for sin.   (Isaiah 53:10-11,

Matt. 1:18-25, Mark 16:1-6, Luke 1:26-27, Eph. 1:7 Rom. 3:22-25)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity.  The Holy Spirit is co-equal in essence and power and is co-eternal with God the Father and the Son.  I believe the Holy Spirit was active in creation, in the empowering of the Old Testament saints for special ministry, and the inspiration of God's word.  The Holy Spirit came upon the Virgin Mary  when she conceived Jesus Christ.  At Jesus' baptism the Holy Spirit came upon Christ, led Him to be tempted in the wilderness, empowered the miracles of Christ and was active in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today the Holy Spirit is active in the world to convict men of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  He is active in regenerating the sinner and indwells the new believer upon salvation.  He seals the new believer until the day of redemption.  He indwells the believer for the purpose of teaching, guiding and comforting.  As believers we are commanded to yield to the work of the Holy Spirit in order to live a victorious life for God's glory.  (Exodus 31:3; 1 Samuel 10:10; 16:14; Psalm 51:11; Matthew 1:18; 3:16; 4:1; 12:28; John14:7; 16:7-11,13; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18; II Thessalonians 2:7; Titus 3:5

ANGELS

God created a host of immortal spirit beings called angels. These angels were created with superhuman strength, intelligence and power.  The primary purpose for  their creation is to bring glory to God and to minister to the saints.  Lucifer, the highest of all angels, was created perfect and beautiful as all angels were. Through pride Lucifer, also called Satan, tried to overthrow God allowing sin to enter the universe.  When Satan rebelled against God, he took a host of angels with him.  The result is two different classes of angels, the unfallen angels who are confirmed in holiness and do the work of God, and the  fallen angels (demons) who were cast from heaven with Satan and do the bidding of Satan as he works to hinder the temporal and eternal welfare on man.  Ultimately Satan and his demons will be condemned for all eternity in the lake of fire.  (Psalm 103:21; 148:2-5; Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:14-16; Ephesians 6:11-12; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:14; 2:7-9; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6)

MAN

Man was created by God out of the dust of the earth, in His own image on the sixth day of creation. Man was created for the purpose of bringing glory to God and is the crowning glory of creation. Man, being created in the image of God, possesses intellect, emotion, will, and is self-conscious therefore being capable of fellowship with His creator and other men. Adam, the first man, was created in a state of innocence but sinned against God when he chose to disobey the command of God. The result of Adam’s disobedience is that both physical and spiritual death were brought upon Adam, and the entire human race was placed under the curse of sin, therefore all men are born with a sin nature having a propensity for sin rather than obedience to God. The result of the sin nature is that all men are justly condemned in their own sin, out of fellowship with their Creator and due to pay the penalty of sin, forever separated from God. Man is absolutely responsible for his own sin and condemnation. (Genesis 1:26-27, 31, 2: 7,17, 3:6-9, 14-19; John 3:18; Romans 3:10; 5:12; 6:23; I Thessalonians 5:22; Hebrews 4:12; Revelation 20:14-15)

SIN

Sin is an act of disobedience against a Holy God and His law. Sin is falling short of the holy standard set by a perfect and Holy God. I believe that all men, universally, are sinners by nature and subject to pay the penalty for their sin. I believe that sin began when Lucifer, or Satan, vowed that he would be equal with God. After Satan’s prideful proclamation he came to the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve both gave in to the temptation and transgressed the command of God not to eat of the tree. The result of sin is that all men face the consequences of physical and spiritual death that consummates in the just penalty for sin in the lake of fire. The only escape for the penalty of sin is salvation through Christ based on the power of His shed blood.

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the written revelation of God given to man consisting of 66 canonical books, 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. These truths are revealed by the verbal and plenary inspiration by God to holy men who penned these truths without error. These Words of God are the complete and infallible authority to man for all matters of faith and practice. All the Word’s of God can be understood by

the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit and are sufficient for the salvation of souls and spiritual growth by the believer. (Deuteronomy 4:4; Deuteronomy 8:3; Exodus 4:15; Psalm 12:6-7; Psalm 119:89; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 4:4; Matthew 5:17-18; Matthew 25:35; Luke 16:17; Luke 21:33; John 10:35; John 20:31; Hebrews 6:18; I Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 2:15; II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 2:2; II Peter 1:19-21; I John 4:6; Revelation 22:18-19)

SALVATION

Salvation is a work of God who in love brings sin cursed man from a position of eternal separation from God in hell to eternal life with God in Heaven. Salvation is by grace a gift of God offered to all men who upon conviction of their sin by the Holy Spirit accepts by faith the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment for their own sin. Man can in no way earn salvation or have salvation merited to them. The person who accepts Christ as Savior is instantaneously saved from the condemnation of sin, is being saved from the dominion of sin, and will be saved from the presence of sin when he enters heaven. Once a person has accepted Christ as their Savior that individual is saved from eternal damnation and is secure for all eternity

by the power of God. God is not willing that any should perish and has therefore offered His gift of salvation to all who repent by faith in Christ. (John 3:16-18, 36; 10:28; Romans 5:8, 12; 6:23; 10:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; I Timothy 2:4; II Peter 3:9)

THE CHURCH

The church is a local assembly of believers, immersed upon their confession of faith in Christ, covenanted together for the purpose of worship, edification, observance of the ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s table), separated by the Holy Spirit of God for the proclamation of the gospel both at home and abroad, autonomous in government with only two offices filled by a pastor and deacons. I believe in the primacy of the local church as the visible church of God which is God’s primary means of evangelizing the lost. (Acts 2:37-47, Acts 4:32,I Tim. 3:1-12, Acts:6:1-7, Matt. 28:19-20, Matt. 26:20-29, I Cor. 11:23-26, Eph. 3:1-6, ICor.12:12-13, Acts 20:17-28, Col. 1:18, Heb.10:24-25)

THE LAST THINGS

The rapture of saints, both living and those who died, is the next event to take place in God’s prophetic plan. I believe the rapture is imminent, pretribulational, and premillennial and is followed by a 7-year tribulation during which time the wrath of God is poured out upon the earth and Satan will deceive many. At the end of the tribulation period Christ will return to the earth with a great army and defeat the armies of the earth. Following his victory Christ will establish His millennial Kingdom and reign for 1000 years. Following the millennium, the unsaved will be found guilty and condemned in the lake of fire with the devil and his angels. The saints will then live for all eternity in the new heaven and new earth forever with the Lord.

PRACTICAL THEOLOGY

A. As believers we are to live lives wholly separated to the honor and glory of the Lord. I believe the church as

an organization ought to have a good working relationship within a community. However, I believe it is wrong

for the church or individual believer to partner with the unbeliever whether privately or corporately. Therefore,

I stand in opposition to the New Evangelicalism which has compromised the fundamentals of the faith.

When it comes to the Fundamentals of the faith there is no compromise. We are to “contend for the faith”.

I further stand in complete opposition to liberalism, Neo-orthodoxy, Ecumenism, and the Charismatic

movement. (Romans 16:17-19; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; Ephesians 5:11; Jude 3)

B. I am opposed to the consumption of alcoholic beverages in all forms, even in moderation.

(Proverbs 20:1; 23:29-35; John 15:19; Ephesians 5:8; I Timothy 3:3)

C. I stand in opposition to all forms of rock music and Christian Contemporary music. I believe that music

has both moral and spiritual value and therefore ought to promote only Godliness. Rock and

Christian Contemporary music promotes the individual, is sensual and promotes sin. The discord and rock beat

that usually pervades CCM has an adverse affect on the natural rhythms of the body and is a negative

influence on the emotions. (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

D. I am opposed to the position that states that a believer must look like the world in order to win the world.

As believers we are to live holy, separated lives that honor and glorify the savior. Modesty in our dress

and abstinence from all appearances of evil are essential for a Godly testimony in a sin darkened world.

(II Corinthians 6:17-7:1; I Thessalonians 5:22)

E. I am opposed to divorce and remarriage. (Romans 7:1-2; I Corinthians 6:17)

F. I believe that God oversaw the translation of His word from the original languages and that the Masoretic

Text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament are substantially the equivalent

to the original texts. I believe the King James Version is the only translation that accurately reflects

these traditional texts and is the best translation for public preaching, teaching, and memorization.

I reject the use of paraphrases as a translation since they are in actuality only commentaries of what

one man thinks the Bible says. (Psalm 119:104-105; Psalm 138:2; Mark 13:31; John 16:12-14; Revelation 22:18-19)
